Where possible, arrange move-in cleaning after you have access and before furniture arrives. First confirm that the property will actually be available and that cleaning can finish before unloading starts.

Describe the condition, not only the floor area

Send relevant photographs and identify rooms, cupboards, appliances and any areas needing special attention. Ask the cleaner which tasks are included and which require a separate assessment.

Distinguish ordinary cleaning from repairs, mold treatment, pest work or removal of abandoned belongings. Do not assume an all-purpose cleaning booking covers those different tasks.

Coordinate access and inspection

Arrange key collection, water and electricity access with the responsible person. Give the cleaner enough time to complete and show the agreed work before the moving crew fills the space.

Keep a short inspection list based on the booked scope: accessible surfaces, cupboards and other agreed areas. Raise concerns promptly with photographs rather than relying on a general impression after furniture hides the surfaces.

Can cleaning and unloading happen simultaneously?

Ask both providers, but overlapping work can block access and make inspection difficult. A clear sequence is usually easier to coordinate.

Does a mover's unpacking service include deep cleaning?

Do not assume so. Confirm cleaning as its own scope, even if one business helps arrange both appointments.
