Ask your building management whether a moving reservation is required and obtain the approved time before confirming the truck schedule. A normal passenger elevator being available does not guarantee unrestricted moving access.
Ask specific questions
- Which elevator and entrance should the crew use? - What loading and completion times are permitted? - Is protective covering required, and who provides it? - Are any building charges or deposits involved? - Who can help if access is unavailable on the day?
Repeat these questions at both properties. Conditions at the departure building may be completely different from the destination.
Share the reservation details
Send the mover the approved slot, lift dimensions or restrictions if supplied, and the management contact. Ask whether your largest items can use that route. Keep the confirmation available offline on moving day.
If the building changes the slot, tell the provider immediately. Do not assume the crew can simply switch to a ladder-lift truck or stairs without checking feasibility and scope.
Does an elevator reservation mean exclusive use?
Only if management confirms that. Ask how other residents' access is handled.
What if there is no management office?
Ask the landlord or building's responsible contact about moving arrangements. The absence of an office is not permission to block shared access.
