Choose between a weekend and weekday by checking crew availability, building rules and your ability to supervise. Do not assume that one day is always cheaper or easier for every route and provider.

Check the building before the truck

Ask both management offices whether moving is allowed on your proposed day and during which hours. Confirm whether someone will be available to open loading areas or manage protective coverings. A quiet building on a weekend may also have fewer staff available to help.

Then ask providers for the same inventory and scope on both candidate dates. Only a like-for-like quote shows whether your particular schedule changes the total.

Count the practical trade-offs

A weekday may require leave from work. A weekend may make it easier to have a friend help, but could conflict with other residents' reservations. If key collection depends on an agent or landlord, confirm their actual availability too.

Keep cleaning, installations and disposal appointments on the same comparison sheet. Saving on one part of the move is less useful if it creates an extra storage stage.

Is a public holiday treated like a weekend?

Ask each building and provider; do not infer their operating schedule from the calendar alone.

What if I can move only after work?

Request the exact arrival window and permitted completion time. An evening enquiry is not confirmation that late loading is allowed.
