On moving day, focus on access, inventory and communication. Keep your booking details and essentials with you so the crew can work without repeatedly stopping to locate a key or clarify an item.
Before loading
Confirm the destination address and contact number with the moving lead. Walk through the rooms and identify items that stay, fragile pieces and existing damage. Keep personal documents, medication and valuables separate.
Check that the approved loading route is available. If something has changed, tell the provider before carrying starts. Obtain clarification about any proposed work outside the agreed scope.
Before leaving the old home
Check cupboards, balcony storage and bathroom cabinets. Count labelled boxes and take relevant condition photographs. Follow the arranged inspection and key-return procedure.
At the new home
Show the crew where large furniture should go and keep exits clear. Reconcile the inventory, inspect accessible items and raise concerns promptly. Save the receipt or completion record and the provider's contact details.
Should I unpack every box before the crew leaves?
Follow the agreed service and inspection arrangement. Prioritize obvious condition issues and missing items, then continue checking as you unpack.
What if I cannot be at both addresses?
Arrange an authorized contact and clear instructions in advance. Do not assume the crew can resolve property access without someone responsible present.
