A few Korean terms can make an English moving conversation clearer, especially when you are reading building notices or comparing written proposals. Treat the terms as prompts for questions, not complete service definitions.
Keep this mini glossary
| Korean | Practical meaning | |---|---| | 이사 | Moving home | | 견적 | Estimate or quotation | | 포장 | Packing | | 반포장이사 | A partly customer-packed moving service | | 용달 | A small freight/transport service context | | 사다리차 | Ladder-lift truck | | 관리사무소 | Building management office | | 대형폐기물 | Bulky waste |
Add an action to the noun
Instead of sending only “사다리차?”, ask whether one is needed at the departure or destination address, who checks access and who arranges it. Instead of asking only for “견적,” send the date, inventory and building conditions.
Keep the Korean address exactly as supplied by the property owner or agent, including the building and unit numbers. Translating a building nickname into English can make the entrance harder to identify.
Should I use a translation app for the contract?
It can help you read, but ask about unclear obligations before agreeing. Save both the original text and the provider's explanation.
What phrase describes English consultation?
“영어 상담 가능한가요?” asks whether English consultation is available. Salgu can provide English consultation; separately confirm how the crew will communicate on the day.
