Do not dispatch a load on the assumption that keys will become available at an unconfirmed time. Clarify the handover with the landlord or agent and discuss a contingency with the mover before the day.
Put times in writing
Record when you must leave the old home, when inspection happens and when the new property can receive belongings. Ask who will hand over the key or access code and save a backup contact.
If those times do not align, ask the provider about possible waiting, revised delivery or storage arrangements. Obtain the applicable scope and terms rather than assuming the truck can remain occupied for as long as necessary.
Keep essentials accessible
Carry identification, medication, chargers and overnight items yourself. Keep destination keys out of the load. If someone else will receive your belongings, agree their role and give them the inventory and contact details.
Should a delay occur, tell the provider immediately with the facts you know. Avoid inventing a new arrival time merely to keep the original schedule looking workable.
Can the mover resolve a landlord dispute?
A mover can coordinate logistics, but property access and tenancy disagreements require the appropriate parties to resolve them.
Is same-day storage always available?
No. Discuss the contingency ahead of time and confirm availability instead of relying on an emergency assumption.
